Ezra Claverie has a GED from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and a PhD from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
 

A native of Saint Louis, USA, he has worked in Istanbul, Turkey; Denali National Park, Alaska; and Beijing, People's Republic of China. For eight years he taught writing and media studies at New York University Shanghai, until the lockdowns of spring 2022 convinced him to change careers. He now writes and edits full time.
